Many times we need to monitor the person/people visiting some place like a Seminar hall, conference room or Shopping mall or temple. Bidirectional Visitor Counter project can be used to count and display the number of visitors entering inside any conference room or seminar hall. This is a bidirectional counter which means it works in a two way. That means the counter will be incremented if a person enters the room and will be decremented if a person leaves the room. LCD displays this value which is placed outside the room.
This is one of the Sensor projects which has Infrared sensors involved in it. And it contains the following blocks:

Question: Why you have used Infrared sensors to count the no of persons?
Answer: Advantage of using Infrared sensor is that IR rays are not visible to human eyes. Also IR rays are not affected by any other sources. e.g. If you use LDR as a sensor then it can be easily triggered by sunlight or any other sources of light.
Question: What is the maximum count that can be stored in this project?
Answer: As the microcontroller used is an 8 bit microcontroller. Maximum data is FF hex which is 255.

HI
Dear
I am tahir from Bahrain .I want to buy one project ,Soalr tracking system,so, what is the total cost snd delivery procedure.
thanks
tahir
Hi Tahir, you can make payment by Paypal or by western union money transfer. Then we will send the project by DHL courier or DTDC courier. For costing details, please mail us your detailed address then we will reply you with total cost.
I want the circuit diagram of this bidirectional counter as i'm doing a project related to it can u send me if possible
I want that project, but i need report as soon as possible, can you send report exactly after payment , and i can wait the post only for circuit.
thankss
Does the project, bidirectional visitor counter works for same entery and exit point????????????
i want project report on dam automation by using microcontroler
hi im pradeep,
what will happen when two person enters the room simultaneously or leaves ,will it count as one or two....??????
Hi
what will happen when animals crosses the entrance of the gate where the infrared sensors are placed
hello,
as described above that bidirectional counter is used to inc n decreament the number of the visitors entering or leaving the room resp....but what is the need or application to decreament the number of the visitors leaving the room..
Must be two gates, one for entry and another for exit, otherwise it is not possible to count and functions the current status of the people in the room. If single gate is used then this project is failed. Because a single gate always shows +1 count while we enter or leave....
in this project can we use the RFID card reader .
at place of IR SENSOR
Actually I want to ask can u plzz share the video of bidirectional visitor counter there soon .. I m making my project on bidirectional visitor counter..
